MDF Panels Guidelines
General
Boards can be cut, drilled and machined with power or compressed air tools commonly used in carpentry or mechanical metalwork.
Appropriate personal protective equipment such as masks, gloves, goggles, etc. should be worn.
Drilling
Drilling should be performed with non-impact drills using HSS (High Speed Steel) drills suitable for drilling wood.
Cutting
The cutting of Valchromat boards must be performed with circular saws with high wear-resistant carbide (tungsten) cutters. To make multiple cuts or to cut boards with a thickness of 19 mm or greater, a horizontal cutting table should be used. The cutting table will increase profitability.
Edge Machining
Simple edge machining can be carried out on site using a portable router.
Using the correct cutter, edges can be made by: Bevelling, rounding, grooving, etc.
Valcomat panels should be stored in a covered, dry area on a flat base, raised at least 8 cm for forklift access. Supports must be no more than 80 cm apart, and when stacking pallets, all supports must be aligned to avoid deformation.
Valcomat panels should be handled using proper equipment when possible. If moved manually, they must be carried vertically, one by one, with enough people to prevent deformation, while following safe handling practices, using protective equipment, and complying with health and safety regulations.

Furniture
Valcomat panels are dense, non-toxic, and ideal for furniture making, offering excellent finish without the need for edging. Using well-sharpened tools and panels from the same batch ensures quality and color consistency. Although waterproof, applying varnish in damp environments is recommended to prevent mould and fungi.
Decorative Panels
Valcomat panels are ideal for decorative applications due to their high density and excellent machinability, enabling precise CNC and manual work. Their rich colors allow for creative, original, and three-dimensional designs.

Restoration
Valcomat panels are waterproof but should be varnished in damp areas to prevent mould or fungi, and they are not recommended for kitchen worktops.
Bathrooms
Valcomat panels are suitable for bathroom furniture due to their moisture resistance, low abrasion, and high mechanical strength, but should not be used in direct contact with water and require a varnish coating. They are favored by carpenters for their clean, edge-free finish after cutting.
Kitchens
Valcomat panels are suitable for kitchen furniture and fixed surfaces, offering clean, edge-free finishes. Varnishing is recommended in humid areas, and panels should not be used where they contact water directly. They are not recommended for kitchen worktops due to the risk of scratches and marks from heat or moisture.
Doors
Valcomat panels are well suited for door construction due to their high mechanical resistance, allowing metal fittings to be attached and panels to be cut without compromising performance.
